Our British made individual Patient Dispensing Medicine Trolley is a secure, efficient and convenient system for storing and distributing medicines within the Hospital Ward or Nursing Home.

Individual removable bins for each patient's medicines are arranged in drawers of six. Double width bins are available but of course fewer of them can be accommodated. Each bin has a Label Holder and up to four dividers can be fitted, each with a label holder.

A rack for stock bottles in a supplies drawer and can be lifted out and mounted at working height during medicine rounds. A waste bin and water jug are built in. A lectern and side shelf can be added.

The individual bins are made of high impact polystyrene. Lenght 300 mm (11 3/4") Height 80 mm (3 1/4") Width 94 or 188 mm
(3 1/2" or 7").

SECURE

The trolley's steel construction is intrinsically safe and will withstand all but the most determined (and noisy) physical attack. Access is restricted by a high security lock and a wall lock is standard. There are two visible indicators that the trolley is open.

One key releases the trolley from the wall and unlocks all the drawers. No key is needed for re-locking. The drawers can be slam-locked after the central lock has been activated.

Each high security lock is unique - key blanks are not available to casual buyers. Suites of keys with a master can be arranged. The lock core can be changed on site if security has been compromised by key loss.

The exposed part of the patients bins are double skinned.

EFFICIENT

Individual Patient Dispensing offers a very high degree of efficiency. It can reduce medicine round ime by up to 40% with no loss of accuracy - indeed there is much less chance of giving the wrong medication. In Nursing Homes the separated storage of individually prescribed medication is mandatory.

The no-key slam lock facility, besides adding to the security of the trolley, is a major aid to efficiency.

CONVENIENT

All the trolley contents are accessible without disturbing the work surfaces. The patient bins lift out for safe and convenient dispensing. Each can be labelled and sub-divided (perhaps into daily doses).

The worktop has lip to contain spillage. The working area can be extended by a folding side shelf. The lectern is a useful aid to dispensing.

The drawers have easy glide runners and lift out for cleaning. The big 125mm castors make movement easy and the non-marking bumper protects the trolley and its environment.

ECONOMIES

The IPD system in hospitals can save money:The quantity of expensive drugs issued to wards can be more carefully controlled;

Patient compliance is easier to monitor thus saving wastage;

Unused stocks are more easily recovered.

IPD is an essential aid to clinical accounting.
